Driving Directions: Take exit 284 in Utah County. Travel east on the Timpanogos Highway (SR 92) to American Fork Canyon USFS fee station. From the Fee Station, travel 3.5 miles to Sawmill Picnic Area,

Entrance: Cross the bridge at Sawmill Picnic Area and follow the trail (53) left towards the Little Mill Campground.

Middle: ¼ into the trail you will reach Little Mill Campground, continue through the campground until you reach the Forest Service fence. The last 100' of this trail are not paved.


Exit: Return the way you came


The Business: This is a paved trail that runs through the campground and can be very busy in the summer. Part of the trail is the road through the campground The campgrounds are open May 18- Oct 18. No bike or skateboards are allowed on the trail while the campground is open. Once the snow hits the trail is groomed for cross country skiing. This is a know avalanche path, so check avalanche conditions before heading out to the trail. The trail follows the American Fork River and SR-92. The river is stocked with rainbow trout and is a great spot for fly fishing in the Autumn. For those of you who climb, there are boulders and several crags along the trail.
